Hi everyone, 

I have just finished a Revit essentials training course which as you expect covered most of the basics but wasn’t particularly useful when it came to roofs.

I have a proposed drawing that I would like to replicate in Revit. Everything up to wallplate level I am fine with, however I am struggling with everything above.

1. The actual form of the roof. Due to “input” from planning officers, the roof has the following features; gable ends, cropped hips, what we call a “witches hat” and it also cat slides on the back. So everything you could probably imagine in one roof.

2. The build up of the roof to make it look like one of our standard details. I have played around with the roof build ups but I can never seem to get the plasterboard to wrap on the inside?

Thanks for any help on the above And I have attached some PDF’s for reference.

I'm not sure which bit you are struggling with.  I would suggest modelling the plasterboard layer as a ceiling rather than a part of the roof.  Note that for the lower sections of roof that there is an offset for the sketch lines so that you can adjust the height of lines to be above or lower than the main roof height.
