can't seem to join a gable to a hip roof...done this before but not on this project? two main problems here on the top of the plan there is a porch and the main roof wants to cover that too... but revit won't let me.. second lower left is a gable...won't let me join that either. thanks!

You don't have to do this as two roofs ... do as one in one sketch. Sorry ... If the gable end aligns with the eaves of the main roof, you can not do this as one sketch. That's because there are no lines to define the slope of the gable. You will have to do this as two roofs.
