Hi there Revit city people.

The problem is that when I set the width of pitched roof to be 10mm and attached the walls below, I can see in elevation, 3D and site plan traces of those walls and when I print the drawing in certain scale I  see the lines on the plot?

I am working on REVIT 2009

Do you mean thickness of the roof?  If so, set the layer that you have to be structure and not finish - the walls are attaching to the top of the layer.

Thanks for the fast reply TIM123. Yes I meant the thickness of the layer, I have one layer set as structure and it is in between the two core boundary layers.

If you draw a section does it look like this, or does the wall extend to the top of the layer?

 Hi tim1234

I hope you still there (I mean after the weekend), Yes the wall extend to the top of the layer.

Check the priorities of the roof and wall.  If the structural layer in the wall is set to structure (1) and the single roof layer is set to structure (1), it should work.  If the priority of the roof layer is lower than the wall structural layer (such as 2), the wall structural layer will extend through it.

Hi tim123

If you still have energy for that? Have a look at the attached files showing the problem and the construction of the wall and the roof. I think the priority is ok but still have problem.

Regards

nirim

I gave creaeted a similar setup to what you have, the roof is also similar.  This seems to work.  I do notice that when I zoom out I can see the wall lines through the thin roof, but these do not print and dissappear when I zoom in closer.

Hi tim123

It seems to me that I need to give up, maybe it the ‘revit’ version yours is 2010 and my is 2009 but if I can see the notorious lines on the computer they will print.

There is no difference between 2009 and 2010 with this.  Are you sure you attached the wall to the roof?  You clicked on the wall and selected attach on the options bar then picked your roof?

The roof looks fine - the only thing that I can think of is a view is set to wire frame, or the roof material has some transparancy.

Tim123

I am sorry but the transparency is setting to zero present and view is not wire frame, however when I set the roof thickness to 25mm the lines disappear, but i still need the roof to be 10mm.
