Would love to see more of these as we do a lot of white board models adn un-rendered presentations. How did you get teh multicolored hatching in there?

this family is basically one of the tree families that come with the software with some AutoCAD images added, and then a component family which is the CAD outline made into a solid region
if some of you want i can write a tutorial on how i made it and post it up.
thanks

A tutorial would be good. I myself use alot of landscape in my reenderings. i could use this info for future trees and plants.

Has any one been able to make the DWG scale with tree size, that would make this a very good jumping off point to really start pushing the landscaping and presentation qualities that are need in Revit

Great for one tree, but pointless having different types in the family if they all look exactly the same (i.e. when you select a different type the plan and elevation do not change to suit), you may as well delete the types or it would seem you need to add a visibility parameter to change the render apperance according to type.

hey JF,
I am having a problem with the tree as I bring it into 2011. Any way that it is to be downloaded and brought in that I would get the shadows and realistic look that you were saying it would bring? I am getting to flat planes during rendering.
Thanks
TA
