I have a slab with a perimeter beam. The slab has a 4" expansion joint. When I try to put the beams on eitherside of the EJ one of the beams keeps extending through the EJ to connect to the other beam end. It seems to be a tolerance issue. How can I get my beams to keep seperated and have the 4" EJ?

Het shatcher. I got the same problem, anyone got a solution? the best work around i have at the moment is to cut the beams by face. This does produce the required gap but am not sure it this will be recognised as a gap if I use the model for any analysis.

How thick is the expansion joint? I typically use the trim-multiple and trim to the expansion joint edge.
