Can I create arched ceilings? If so, how? Up to this point I just made an extruded roof, but then I can't hang lights on it.

You could do the ceiling as an in-place family extrusion in the ceiling category. This way ceiling based lighting families will attach to it.

thanks, that worked. I had tried it before but was attempting to draw it in a section view, and Revit wouldn't allow me. This time I did it in an elevation, and it was smooth sailing.

Is there a way to do an "an in-place family extrusion" in Revit 2010. I can not seem to find any way ofcreating an arched ceiling in the latest version.

On the home menu click on the drop down menu on component and create in place. Note that you can find the previous commands by clicking on the drop down menu next to the help button.
