I did a search for "emailing Revit" but came up empty-handed....

How can I email a Revit drawing to my other office?  I tried it once; the file for a simple home was 15 MB and it took forever even on DSL.  I tried to "zip" it but it only made a small difference.  Any suggestions?  Or should I head over to the post office?

Best bet would be to make sure you purge unused before saving. 15 mb's is a small file though. they can get down to 1 or 2 mb's but that's usually just a template file. as soon as you start adding families and such.

I don't know very much about worksets and sharing but you might want to look into that to see if you can implement it to your advantage.

For sending Revit files around it makes much more sense to use something like buzzsaw or an FTP.  These are standard practice when sending anything larger than 10MB.  If you can't arrange that, then a CD in the mail is your next best thing.

A revit file is already compressed so zipping it doesn't do much at all.

I use a free program called Pando available at http://www.pando.com/ to send up to 1 GB files.
