How do I assign JPEG'S to a surface?

2 ways: 1) If you want to use it as a decal (like for a painting or a tv screen): -Modeling >> Decal -Pick the JPG you want to use and then place it where you want it (read the help file on Decals) 2) If you want to use the JPG as a material (ie: brick, conc, grass, etc.) -Settings >> Materials -Click a material in the 'Name' column that is similar to your material and cuplicate it. If nothing is even remotely close then just duplicate any material. -In the 'AccuRender' box, click the little return arrow to the right of the texture box. -right click a material in the 'Name' column and select New > Default Gray -To apply the JPG go to the 'Maps' tab and add a new map (under image mapping), browse to your JPG. Voila. Look at other materials to see how they acheived different looks, this is just the tip of the iceburg. Hope it helped

i didnt know about the decal feature, is this in version 8 or 9?

Decal has been around since 6 I believe.
