I have a couple families (door and windows) with fairly complicated trim, which I built as a sweep. I want all the lines of the trim to show on the interior elevations, but they seem to be defaulting to medium lines, and I really need them to be thin lines so there isn't just a big black blob. Is there any way to control this, apart from going through a coupld dozen views with the linework tool?
Thanks.

It can be controlled through Visibility/Graphics if the trim sweeps are in their own subcategory.

They aren't a seperate subcategory, they're jsut sweeps within the door or window family. How would I make them a seperate subcategory? I know how to choose a subcategory, but I can't figure out how to make a new one. I haven't gotten very far into making families; I mostly just modify others to meet my needs.
Thanks.

I've taken the same route with families - modifying existing ones to what I need. It's fairly easy to create a new subcategory.
1. In the family editor, go to "Settings -> Object Styles." Check to see if there is already one called "Trim". If so, skip to step 3, if not, go to step 2.
2. In the dialog box, click on "New" under "Modify Subcategories." Enter a name for the subcategory and make sure it's a subcategory of windows or doors (whichever you're editing at the time.) After you press Okay, you can modify the default settings for lineweights.
3. Now right click on the trim piece. In the Element Properties dialog, under "Identity Data" There will be a subcategory parameter. Select Trim from the drop down list.
4. Then just reload the family into your project.
You'll have to do this for each separate family. Once it's loaded into your project, if you decide that you want it to appear differently in different views, just use the Visibility/Graphics overrides as you would with any other object.
Good Luck!

That's it! Thanks so much. I was really dreading spending the rest of the day with the linework tool...

No problem. That's what these kind of forums are for.
