Hi all,
When you have created a custom material via 'Settings>Materials...' including a new material you have created for the acurender library, where or what files is the new information stored?

cadjockey,
Go to "settings" "options", click on the rendering folder and there you will see where the accurender resource is located. On the same window you can add more rendering material directories.
Hope thats clear enough.

Yeh i have had previous trouble with my materials disapearing due to using my lap top and pc on the same project. I heard this was a bug of some sort but yeh im not to good with adding directories and things like that.
I have jpg and gif files used in viz render is it possible to drag them into revit at all ...or do i need to put the jpg materials into a directory. If anyone could help me id appreciate it thanks or even any suggestions when using the same project on different pcs.

you can use your jpgs for new materials in the material editor there is a tab that says maps and from there you can browse to the location of your jpgs

Thanks for the replies but I was refering to the two different locations of the Materials file. One is located via the 'Application Data.....' path and has the 'revir.mlib' in the other is located in the Library in the Renerdering file and contains the images.
I am trying to understand what happens when I make an adjustment in the materials interface. That is to set a materials structure ie. it's acurender setting, cut pattern etc.
Is this information stored within the revit.mlib file?

PS : I am swapping between two different computers. Since the Data file whch contains the revit.mlib file is located on the C drive of these systems should this file be on the server?
