Ok Im interested in any input on this. Fairly large wood framed multi residential 4 story building.
In house REVIT Architecture and Structure using liked REVIT models.
The Architectural modeler insists on including elements other than the 6" wood stud layer in the Core for cleanup purposes both in plan and in elevation.
SO . . . . in the strucutural model when we copy monitor the arch'l walls (load bearing only) to our structural 6" stud walls there is NO WAY to line up our 6" walls (all core) automatically with the arch'l composite walls because we have different core thickness. SO . . . we have to copy monitor the walls, then manually 'align' our structural 6" walls to the arch'l walls corect 6" layer edge and then 'accept the difference' to the coordination review for each wall (many many many walls).
OR do we insists the arch'l people make their wall cores only the 6" so our structural copy monitored walls automnatically line up and then address their arch'lwall cleanup problem as a result of that ?
What a dogs breakfast eh ! Concrete buildings do no have this problem. Just wood framed buildings.
Any input or thoughts on how others might be doing this wood framed arch'l / struct'l modeling ??
Thx
DG
