Hi, hope this is the right place to post this questing..

So, I've got a structural component built as a "Structural Column" so that it willl give me the volume, (where we are having them manufactured prices thier stuff by volume of material). It's giving me the volume nicely but I'd like it to read as a structural connection in the project so that it shows up in the right schedule. I have it nested in a family of the right type, and I can see its volume when it's selected. Is there a way that I can get the volume to show up in a parameter in the host family?

Basically: Can I get the native sytem volume parameter of a nested structural column to come through into a host family of a different type?

Thanks in advance.

Make sure that the nested family is shared.

Just found that structural connections have a volume parameter built in for schedules that just doesn't show up when they are selected.
