I am not new to Revit, so asking this question makes me feel like an idiot. I have two railing types in my project- handrail and guardrail. I downloaded the glass railing family from this website. Opened it and clicked load & close. It updates to Revit 2018 and asks if I want to overwrite the parameters. But it's not loaded... or at the least, I don't see it as an option to create a glass railing in sketch mode or modify an existing railing from guardrail/ handrail to glass.

Railings are system families so they cannot be loaded like other families. Open the file that you downloaded and copy and paste the railing into your project and then modify from there. The panels and balusters are famlies, so these would be what you loaded into your project - you would need to re-create the railing from these.
