Hi everyone, I'm wondering why Revit does this, when I'm working in any view (mostly in elevations and sections) and try to select with a markee Revit Will select things that I can't see because they are behind any object (wall, furniture, etc.) or they are out of the reach of any crop region but somehow related with what I can see in the view (and sometimes not related). It does not select thing from the floor below because is in another view.

Is there any setting that I can set to fix this or anything I can do? Cause this is really annoying and I have erase or move things by mistake and did not realize until later.

Thanks.

Check the elevation/section view far clipping. Everything within the view extends can be selected. Pull back your far clipping window so it doesn’t protrude into the adjacent room, beyond the wall.

I try to teach all of the folks in our office to as a habit, do exactly what pijpiwo says.   Not only to reduce the problems you encountered but also to better the performnace.   Wit views that are set deeper than necessary, Revit has to 'hide' elements.   Not much of an issue now as it was when we had to set the 3 GB switch but why be sloppy?

Ok, so that is. Is a wear behavior but that's ok, I'll try to pull back the far clipping the most I can to avoid that.

Thanks!
