Is it possible to use "calculated value" in the schedule fields for the following end result?:

Our model is currently employing a linked model (which contains the rooms/room separation lines) therefore the door schedule in the main model cannot display the "to room" and "from room" parameters.

Each door number is tagged: "roomnumber.a"      For example a door leading into room N228 is tagged N228.a

Is there a way to use a calculated value to "subtract" the ".a" from the door and therefore give the room number associated with said door?

hi pmoss

if you really must... export/import schedule to/from excel. there are plenty of add-ins and workaround out there

in excel use the formuala: =LEFT(text,num_chars)
