Using Revit MEP 14'

my company has set shared parameters for families we create

out of the box Revit is pulling info for tags from families using the "type mark" parameter......many of these Identity Data parameters have me frustrated becaus some of the families do not seem to have them all added

so what is everyone doing when it comes to creating custom families and using tags? are you adding a shared paramterer and modding the tags?

what would solve me issues is figuring out how to add type mark correctly to all families if it is not included...??? any suggestions/comments would be appreciated

please let me know if something is not clear in anyway...

This is the first weeks I've been digging into families and Im trying to learn as I go

Thanks

I guess it may nto be out of the box for tags to pull type mark but that is how my company has set it up currently

I'm not sure what you are asking.

If you set your category correctly, standard parameters will be assigned in the family.

Tags will only read shared parameters.

Shared parameters can be exported from a project or family so the same shared parameter can be used elsewhere.  NOTE:  Shared parameters are more than a name.

AH. I look to be overthinking it a bit....i just realized how it seems to in all the families u just cannot assign it a set value it is only visible under indentity data once you go to edit the type and then you can edit it

sorry for the trouble hopefully this will answer someone else question in the future
