I am working on a simple toposurface model with several in place massings on it.  When I go to graphic display options I can turn the shadows on but I cannot turn on "show ambient shadows".  I am in a 3D axon view that I am trying to apply the shadows to.

Has anyone else run into this?  I am missing some setting somewhere and I cannot find it.

I am using 2012 revit architecture 32 bit.  Service pack 1 installed.

It looks like you need to have hardware acceleration turned on to use this feature.

Click OptionsGraphics tabUse Hardware Acceleration (Direct3D® to access the hardware acceleration setting.

Within Revit 2019 shadows are controled within the View Template assigned to the view.

Actually, they are controlled by the Graphic Display Options.  These can be assigned to a view template (or not).
