Hi there

Both materials are model pattern. How do I make them to be parallel to the floor? It is confusing to me, sins the pattern on the lower wall look fine, and the stone material on elevation looks fine as well.

You obviously got the stone one rotated.....so you should have learned from that. <smile>

Brick is normally very easy.  From an elevation view, tab until you find a horizontal joint, then rotate it 90 degrees.  Ahhh.... but that doesn't work for a cone - does it?  I had not tried this until your question.  This one has me stumped from our normal process.

Normaly brick is always horizontal initially, so I am qurious as to why yours is not.  That question leads to an answer.  The normal pattern is defined horizontally but you can edit that to default to vertical in the pat file, as I believe your pattern has been.

Thanks for the reply. Question is how to tell the pattern to be vertical? You do it in the Modify pattern Properties dialog box or you do it in the actual *.pat file?

The rotation in the material settings is for aligment of the jpeg image.  You would have to do that in addition to the pat file rotation if you want it to render correctly and if your brick was vertical.  You did not answer as to why your brick is rotated.  Normal brick works fine and is horizontal on a cone.
