I am new to the Revit community and am currently teaching myself Revit.  I was informed that my software should come with the structural columns family already installed, but I can not find it anywhere.  Could someone send me this family file?

You should find most of this information in the metric/imperial libraries which come with the software.

if you go to the following ribbon location:

Insert -> Load Family

you will find a dialogue box with icon-links on the left-side.  The libraries should appear here.  If not, go to:

Revit icon fly-out/drop-down (upper-left corner of program window) -> Options (next to exit revit on lower-right-hand-corner of fly-out) -> File Locations tab -> Places...

There is where your library is mapped to.  This is where you will find the pre-loaded content.  Structural columns are under structural columns, if memory serves me correct.  There may be a structural folder.  not sure- i am using a german version of revit.

If you do not have a library for some reason, then you should say so- someone, not me, can help you install the library.  i know they are available for download from somewhere (subscription may be required.)

Otherwise, you can always download content from seek.autodesk.com

Make sense?
