I have an existing wall with a new door placed in it. It cuts the wall, then places a new wall in the hole like there had been a demolition...but its nothing but a new door in an existing wall. why is it showing this? if I try to delete this center wall filling, it will delete the door too.

i am not working with revit architecture, so i don't run into these types of problems that often.

The existing wall was continuous- you are not placing a new door in an existing opening- right?

that means you have to demolish part of the wall in order to create the opening.  i am guessing this is what revit is doing.  are you able to assign the new piece of wall to a demolition phase?

let me know if that works.  i am curious.

existing glass door in an existing wall. all i want to do is build the existing condition...basic door in wall.

never mind last post. I mean a new door in an existing wall. same basic idea though...the door should cut the wall out. not cut the hole, then place a new wall in the same space as itself...
