I am trying to apply tile to a bathroom floor, but it goes over the tub and toilet, etc. How do I get the hatch to go around the fixtures? Thanks, FRS8

Make sure the tub and toilets 3D visibilities are turn on in plan. Most likely the 3D elements are turned off in plan and a symbolic representation is shown. The problem with doing this is the tile pattern of the floor shows through. Alternate solution is to nest a detail component into the family containing a filled region to block out the hatch pattern (if the 3D element is a imported dwg and has excessive linework that you don't wish to show in plan)

Thanks for responding. Where do you turn on the 3d visibility of the tub and the toilet? I looked in View Properties, Visibility but I didn't see anything for 3d specifically. Thanks, FRS

I think that Mr Spot want to say to turn on visibility of family (category) that contain 3d toilet, etc or may be not ... or ...

Open the family. Switch to 3D view. select each of the elements. Click the visbility button. (refer image) Check its on in plan.
