You would think that it is simple to draw a dashed within the family editor. But the line type options for symbolic lines or model lines are not available inside the family editor. Does anybody know how I can add a line type to a family?

You can add a new line type in Object styles and set the line type. You can create a new line type under additional settings.

I figured it out. I need to be inside the family editor and activate the object style dialog there. Easy peasy lemon squeezy once you know. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction

If you are trying to create it for a family you do it in the family.

>Go to the manage tab.
>Click Object styles under settings.
>You can edit existing line types or make new ones.
>The go click on the lines you'd like to change and change the sub category.(Sub category will be come available under the modify tab.
These line types will carry over with your family when you load it in to your project.
