Can anyone please answer one of these questions??

In the attached detail view (pdf) I have highlighted two items I need to edit, the ceiling joist runs through onto the wall plates but the line of the wall studs run through it. I would like to remove the line or maybe make it a hidden line (dashed).

The other query is the 20mm x 20mm groove (Iam proud of myself of having made a wall sweep) should not show the exterior wall cladding or the line of the outside of the wall. How do I edit these lines.

I am also doing much better as I have been able to print out a pdf with better lineweight view, I did it by just changing the scale of the drawing window before printing. (pat on the back)

I would post the revit file but they are too big.

In your detail is difficult to identify if its model information or detailing?  I'm assuming the former.  There is a tool for "edit cut profile" to make edits to the extents of a particular layer of a wall on a per view basis.

However, in these cases I would generally just place a masking region in these two locations to hide the unwanted linework.

Thx Mr Spot

i could not make the "edit cut profile" option work, the mask region seems to be a good workaround, but it still leaves lines in the wrong places. It would be good if it were possible to make the lines invisible but the mask region still do the masking thing.

I could not upload the file but here is a link to it if you are interested http://www.typepad.com/site/blogs/6a00d83478ff3f69e200d83443961553ef/page/6a00d83478ff3f69e20147e0c5f2a5970b/edit?saved=1

Or you can get it from here www.dmbd.net at the bottom right hand side under PAGES as Residential Architecture in Autodesk Revit Architecture 2010

Hey Tim & Mr Spot I got the cut profile working on one part of my section & the masked region.  but would still like to know how to make the masked region lines invisible. So far as I can see they are System Families & they are not editable, or are they?

Well I finally got it. I did not notice when creating the filled region that one could specify the type of lines, now I do & specified them to be invisible. Thanks to you both for your time.
