I’m creating a title block and read a few tuts but I still dont understand the difference between shared parameters vs labels. Im trying to add “Client address” why cant I just copy/duplicate project address? If it does need to be a shared parameter does that TXT file it creates need to be located in the same folder as the title block?

So shared parameters apply to numerous things and can include lengthts, heights, weights, text, etc.  So you need to make a label and choose the shared parameter "Client Address."  Label is just "Smart Text", your shared parameter is what makes your label go from Text to "Smart" Text.

Shared parameters are usually located all in one area, so most of the time you do not want to segrigate your shared parameters by making your file for "Client Address" with your title block folder.

The reason you do not want to just copy "Project Address" is because it is reading from the shared parameter "Project Address" rather than "Client Address"

The shared parameter file (.txt file) does not need to live in the same location.

Shared parameters are very useful.  You need to learn to appreciate them.

Seriously though, shared parameters are what make Revit so useful.  Having the abilty to schedule information, and change the model through a schedule is unbelievable useful and efficient.  Shared parameters; get to know them!
