Has anyone ever modeled an LH series joist with the top chord sloped and bottom chord level?  I'm a fairly new Revit user (modeling in Revit 2011) and can't seem to find any help on this.  I've looked into editing the standard LH family, but there appear to be nested families to create the panels.  Joist depth would be 4'8" at left end and 3'0" at right end.

Any help would be appreciated!  Thanks!

You could try using an actual truss family.  These are kinda difficult to work with and don't give you a perfect visual representation of the actual joist, but it would definitely be easier than developing a custom joist family.

Otherwise, I'd say that the custom joist family is your best option.  Dig into any help menu articles and online tutorials you can find and you'll be creating custom families in no time.

A third option (not great but would work) is create a custom in-place family using extrustions and/or sweeps to model the truss geometry, although if this is the option you choose, you might as well take it a step further and create your own custom structural framing family.
