Ok, so one of my coworkers (i am the Revit tutor at my school) wanted me to desgin her an assited living facility, which is octogon shaped. Anyway I'm working on doing the roof framing and its proving to be a headache. Bleow are a couple of pics of what I got so far, any one have any better suggestions?

Ok, I got my beams in, and now I'm having some trouble getting the   purlins right. What method would be best to do those?

Set the work plane  use the pick a plane option to select a face of the roof

Use the beam system tool to create the rafters. Use the pick line tool or draw around the perimeter of the face. use the beam direction to align the rafters.

Takes a bit of learning.
