Hello, I've been using revit for a while and i'm having problems with creating a detail view.

I know how to create one, but i'm having problems creating blocking. But mostly I need to know if you can somewhat offset a finish in a ceiling.

Here is an attachment of what it should look like, it is a curtain wall, and a compound ceiling. I need to mostly know if you can offset the finish so that only the gyp board can go past the cieling.

The second attachment is what i have. If you can help me please do.

Have you looked into edit cut profile?

This is a view specific (2D) tool that allows you to edit how each cut layer of an assembly looks when cut.  You can use this to extend, hold back, remove or interrupt layers of walls/floors/roofs in a section or detail.  You can read about it in your help.

Revit not open here but I believe it is a view tab item.

BTW - the cut profile can be altered into any shape and can extend in any 2d direction.
