Hello.. first when i insert my pile caps on level 1, they come right at the bottom of the level line. but when i insert a column under the pile caps, the pile caps change their position to bottom of the column. the pile cap family's category & paramters are checked to "cap" too. i don't understand what could be wrong? any ideas...??

I do not have structures but I believe "columns" will not work under pile caps.

Please see the attachment. Placing column below pile cap worked fine for me. I am not sure about your intension to do that but it is best suggested to place 'Pile' below pile cap and not columns. Cheers.
