Hi everybody,

I've just been upgraded to Revit 2010, and getting the hang of the awesome new layout. In Revit 2009, I could render a 3D view with a background jpeg of the site inserted beforehand. See attachment. Worked wonderfully.

2010 doesn't have that function in it's rendering-menu. I searched through Revitcity's forums, and cannot find the question raised here previously. So has the "insert jpeg" been disabled in the newer version? Do I have to insert the image manually with Photoshop? Hopefully not.

Any advice much appreciated!

If you look at the bottom of this page you can see similar threads about this same question...

"Do I have to insert the image manually with Photoshop? Hopefully not." NO, you don't need PS, what you can do is: Render the image, export the image in a PNG extension, then create a Drafting View and import that PNG render and the JPG image you want to put in background...

you don't have to use PhotoShop. but it still is a manual process as Typhoon explanined.

Or,

Create a massive wall behind your project and Decal the image onto that

Then render away
