Thought would be useful for those who might search for this. I just ran through the numbers with ALT+ combinations to search for the symbols used frequently. For other symbols if required, please discover :-) with ALT key in Revit text note/box.

Guys... there is an easier way... You can do this while in Revit. Goto your windows start and select run ... type in CHARMAP ... this program will show all the special keys available for whichever TTF you are using and you can select the item(s) - copy it to your clipboard and ctr'l V paste it into your revit text.

I find the Alt codes to be faster for commonly used symbols. Charmap is a great backup though.

In our office, we created a drafting view in our template called symbols and added 1 line of text with all the commonly used symbols (plus/minus, on center, diameter, center line, degree, etc.). This way it gets loaded in with every job and all symbols are easily copied/pasted when needed. We just thought this was easier than using all the ALT commands or the char. map.

WWHub: I love CHARMAP, thanks for that information. jmorabito: I really like this idea. I think I will bring this idea up for a standard in the template.....and also make a printable list you can tack to your cube wall if you wanna ALT+ it.
