I've got a beam that spans from a wall and goes out to the face of a slab. the beam is square to the wall but the slab is curved. is it possible to make the end of the beam curve the same as the slab? if yes, any help on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

Opening by face in the 'Modelling' tab.  You may even be able to lock the sketch to the slab...making it semi-parametric.

You can modify the ends of the beam by editing the beam family.  Select the beam, right click, select edit family.  Do a save as so you do not override the original family.  Create a void extrusion at the end of the beam desired.  If you have many beams to do this to - this could take awhile as you would have a different family for each end condition.

This is just one way I am sure.  It sounds like you're trying to accomplish this to provide renderings perhaps?  Otherwise I wouldn't even bother trying to model the end condition, instead modify the end in your detail view with a masking region and detail lines to get what you want...
