Is there an efficient way to make W-Flange framing members (excluding bracing) have their stick symbol location at the top of geometery? Revit places the symbolic line at the center of geometry. I can edit the framing member and alter the appearance, but I am looking for some sort of job/system setting. Any help is appreciated. Greg

I have no direct answer for you. Are you not able to control visibility with the element properties? Is this something you can alter within the family? Add a symbolic line and change the setting to 'from family' instead of 'project settings?' Let me know what you come up with...

Truely impressive, Thanks. I did exactly as you suggested. I added a symbolic line with the offset and locked it to the top reference plane. Worked perfect. Thanks

do don't have to add new lines. select all your beams and go to element properties, under structural go to STICK SYMBOL LOCATION and just select top of geometry. SEE ATTACH

Thank you Manny. I was referring having to all framing members in the job to have this option chosen by default. That option was not available as a job setting; however adding th symbolic line in the family and modifying the parameter to be read "from family" in stead of "from project" works. I can send you the family if you would like. Greg

Manny, Thanks for the tip! I didn't even know that feature was in there...I feel like such a dub. I like to call out elevations on my braced frame views and since they are schematics I like to have them shown in coarse view, but never figured out how to get the symbolic line to the top of the geometry...NOW I KNOW! Thanks again!
