Greetings I am somewhat a noob at families and editing annotations. I am using a weld symbol someone uploaded here that is great! The engineers I work for want a contour symbol below the bottom symbol....seems easy enough. I go to edit the weld symbol and have created the parameters and so forth and loaded it in and it works but I am confused as to how or why the contour symbol that is above the top symbol isnt there and how I can achieve the same thing with my new bottom contour symbol. There is a step or something I am missing I guess Thanks

Are you adjusting your visibility parameters to allow for a contour symbol? I've updated our weld symbol, after many tiresome hours, and finally got something that was graphically acceptable. The weld symbol does not function in the same manner that the original weld symbol did, but that is of little concern to us- because it still functions. See screenshot. Nonetheless...it's possible to get what you want out of the weld symbol.

Check all your parameters and make sure they are all assigned to the right graphics. Beyond that, you'll probably have to post your family here so we can look at it.

Here is my take at a smaller weld symbol. It's set up for 5/64" text size. So far so good... I haven't noticed any gaps in my leaders. I'm still working on a weld symbol for 3/32" text. Please leave comments for improvement!

Here is a 3/32" version as well. Again, seems to be working fine... just needs more testing to know for sure.

I also created some smaller symbols and tried all waht was posted but there are several problems. -some of the posted symbols when I add the leader there is a fearly big gap. -all the symbols created by somebody else and myself have a problem when I add the leader there is no arrowhead. Can anybody figure it out why on this custom creted symbols the arrowhead on leader disapears?

When you load in a new symbol you need to edit the type and tell it what leaderhead to use. They always default to "none"...

Thanks; That was really useful, and really unexpected.
