Hi all,

I'm modeling a series of curves connected by straight elements that run in different directions. Sort of like an abused paper-clip, if you get what I mean. I'm doing it as a mass that is swept along a path, but Revit only gives me a 2-dimensional path option. Is there any way I could sort of drag certain points of the path to give it the 3D look I want. Or any other way to achieve this?

I see a few other users have asked this question in the past on these forums, but no answer has been forthcoming yet.

Thank guys!

did you try abusing the path in a 3d view? I am pretty sure there is a way to do this in newer versions of revit, but its kind of a pain and i always end up importing a sketchup model as a mass into revit.

I'd rather be riding at whistler. or highland. thats good too.

Yes...you can have a 3D path...there is a command "Pick Path" in the sketch mode of Solid Sweep. Depends upon your shape you can pick the path in 3D view. Check the attachments.

Hi Guys,

Pavan, I've tried it in Revit, but my model was of a free-form-nature, and I resorted to modeling it in Sketchup and importing it into Revit. After spending 2 days trying to get it done in Revit, Sketchup sorted me out in 30 mins.

Thanks anyways, guys!
