I want to learn how to add a 1x4 wood trim to the outside of a window. Simple, I'm sure, but I want to add and I can't seem to figure it out

You can create an in-place family using the wall category and just do a simple extrusion. If there are a few you can create a face based family and do an extrusion, or insert parameters if the windows are all different sizes.

You could just add a few more ref planes and parameters to the window family, that way if any are different sizes it will automatically adjust

Okay. Thanks for the answers, but I can crank out projects in revit (for a 52 yr old guy) but I'm having trouble with working with that stuff... work planes and parameters... do I open the window family and how do I add that profile?
