Hey Guys I'm having a lot of trouble with the 3D extents. From the book I am studying (Mastering Revit Structure 2010) it says that by using the 3D extents, you can cut a plane of say just a side lower roof and not extend the level throughout the whole building. This way I gather, in the plan view you would only see that lower roof and not have to crop the plan view. It seems no matter what I do with the extents of the level, the whole building is always shown on the new level. In my eg. I have taken a level of just a water tank and not the extents of the whole building. (plaese see attachment) Any Ideas?? Thanx in advance.

We usually use scope boxes when we have multiple areas. You could also crop your view....

I think I see where you're all confuzzled. The extents of the level do not have any affect on the extents (crop) of the associated plan view. Where adjusting the extents of the level comes in handy is if you cut a new section/elevation in another section of the building that particular level will not be shown.
