Lost in Revit

Its gone. Here are 18 places to look.

Basics
  1. Visibility graphics – Is the category on (V V)
  2. Are you zoomed in or out too far? Zoom all – (ZE or ZF)
  3. Is it hidden in the view – Use the lightbulb on the bottom toolbar
  4. Is it temporarily hidden – Look for cyan border on screen. Use glasses on bottom toolbar
  5. Is the workset on?
  6. Is it in the right workset – Note copying an item will put it in the current workset not the same workset as the original.
  7. Is the workset turned off in the view (V V)
  8. Is it outside the crop region – show crop region to check – blue icon on bottom toolbar
  9. Is the view depth setting set up to show it. (VP)
  10. Was it inserted on a level different from what you expected
  11. Is the detail level setting ok – Square icon on bottom toolbar
  12. Is the phase set correctly? May be in a different phase – Existing demo or new construction (VP)
  13. Are the phase filters set up correctly (VP)
  14. Were invisible lines used eg in a filled region
  15. Is it a mass with the mass category turned off – Icon on top toolbar beside 3D house icon
  16. If a pasted detail object is mostly outside the view crop region it will not be visible. Turn off crop.
  17. It might be excluded from a group instance (will show up when you hover over the group) Select the group and right click to restore all excluded
  18. Grids, Levels missing – are they associated with a scope box that is not intersected by the view
  19. Sections and elevation markers - 'hide at scales coarser than'. (tim123)
Some things to try

Create a new 3D view so there are no visibility setting adjusted. Try a section box to look at slices

Use wireframe setting on bottom toolbar

Temporarily turn off items or categories to see if it is hidden

Turn on all worksets

What have I missed?
