This kind of goes along with the "Attaching beams to model by face roofs - limitations?" that I posted.

If I create a framing beam using a Model-In Place method (in order to place on a roof sloping in 2 directions), then one of the limitations that I come up against is the lack of a analytical line in the finished in place family.

Of course this means that when I take my project out to anyalisis then it won't see that beam.

Is it possible to install an analytical line into the family? The family was created using a Swept Blend, so maybe we can use the path line somehow?

Using Revit Structure 2010

Many thanks for any help.

While editing your family you should be able to plce lines via 'Model Lines' -> 'Analytical Model [Projection]'

Make sense?

That makes a lot of sense, thank you.

Do you know, or does anybody know if there is a way of putting in the Structural Analysis parameters, ie Analyse As and also the Structural parmaters like "Structural Usage"?

Can those be inherited in some way?

Many thanks.
