Ok, the total project involves the following :1. demolish a portion of the building, 2.build an addition in it's place, 3. demolish the interior of the rest of the existing building, 4. rebuild the interior of this portion.

My problem can be focused on the first two steps of the project.  I have 2 phases set up for this: Existing and Proposed.  I have 2 views set up - one for demo and one for the new construction.  So, the demo view is set up for Phase: Proposed, Phase filter: show existing + demo.  The new construction view is set up for Phase: Proposed, Phase filter: show New + Existing.  Now, on the Demo plan I want all the rooms to be shown (including the ones I am demolishing). On the new construction plan, I only want the existing rooms which have not been demolished and any new rooms to show.  So, I am trying to demolish 4 rooms.  How do I set it up, so that those 4 rooms do not show up in the new cosntruction view?

Remember, both the demo and the new construction views are set up to show the same phase with different filters.  So, If I change the phase of the room, it will affect both views the same (either all rooms show, or none show).  Also, I need the actual room to disappear, not just the tag, as I will be placing new rooms in their place.

Would a better solution be to not demo and add new construction in the same phase?  How would my phases and views be set up for that?

 Thanks,

Amy

The existing plan in the image is set to phase - Existing, show all.  The existing and new is set to New construction, show all.  The new only is set to New construction, show complete.

Is this what you are trying to achieve?

Not exactly.  The existing a new plans are correct.  The plan in between should be the demo plan.  I need it to show only existing with demo work.  I want it to show the existing rooms (not new ones), and no new work at all.  See the attached - the rooms are just text lines in this view.  For the demo plan I show, The phase is set to new construction and I have created a new filter that shows Existing and shows the overridden graphics for demolished (this is solely to have the walls show the way I would like).  My big issue here is how to get the rooms to show appropriately.
