Hi there, I've tried searching for existing threads similar to my own problem, but couldn't find any.  The problem I'm having is that I'm trying to create louvers for a rectangular HVAC ceiling diffuser that can be sized for each instance (24"x24", 18"x18" etc).  I know how to create a dynamic array so that the number of louvers in the diffuser changes with the size of the diffuser, but as louvers get added from the center outward, they get longer.  Therein lies the rub.

Is there a way for the dimension of an element in a dynamic array to change based on either an assocation to a work plane or a formula?

 Thanks

Eric

It might be possible by creating two overlapping arrays, one aligned to the angled ref plane and the other to the straight as shown in the attached image.  I don't think that you can get different elements of the array to have different sizes.  I would suggest that it would be easier to make the different diffusers separately (not parametric) instead of making a really complicated family that tries to satisfy all the different conditions.

Interesting idea Tim, I think that might work for this particular family.  I know what you mean about creating an overly complicated family, and if it becomes too complicated then I'll have to reconsider but I was trying to avoid having a separate family for many different sizes of diffusers.

 Thanks
