using 2010:

i am rnovating an old house and am putting the as builts conditions in.....i can't seem to make the stair tool work to draw the existing stair...which has a rise and run that is steeper than the rules allow any help??????

You can change the rules.  Go into the stair properties before you draw the stair and set the minimum tread depth and maximum riser height to suit.
