HI! I am working in Revit Arch. 2008 at the office.  From what I hear curbs are a quite a nightmare, espically in the older versions or Revit.  For now I have created a subregion, leaving my topo material as concrete and making my street material asphalt.  Is it possible to lower my street subregion 4" ?? And then maybe give the topo a thickness to create a 'curb-like' feature?   I have a very large site to deal with - several city blocks with varying topography - so I really need the simpliest way to make it appear to have curb height differences in rendered views.  Help! Thanks!

The sub-regions all have the same level.  If you split the surface you can change the level and lower one, but they have no thickness.  You can create kerbs to cover the gap, but will be difficult to deal with the change of levels.

I prefer to use floor slabs to overcome these problems.  You can still edit the levels of a floor and it has thickness.

Thanks Tim, that is what I was afriad of though..  I really need my street (and topo) to have changing contours, if I am right, I think that floors can only slope in one direction.

I read a lot of the other threads about this issue and I saw the one you are suggesting WWHub, but as much as she knows how to create a sweep blend for streets/sidewalks I am really not sure how it is done.  (espically with only one sweep tool in 2008 - and in this case it does not appear that she is also using topo to meet the street/sidewalk) Any idea?  There does not seem to be much precedent (at least not in tutorial form) on this issue, just lots of different opinions...

Thanks for the responses!

Floors can have multiple slopes using the edit sub-region function.  I think that this was available in 2008.  If you're doing such a large scheme do you need the kerbs to be modelled for the whole site?  You could perhaps just split the surface and lower it for the roads if it's required to show levels in plan.
