I am trying to get some existing concrete columns to graphically appear as solid black poche.  The rest of the existing elements are half-tone cross hatched.

What is the best way to make this work?

The attached file shows what I am working toward.

Thanks in advance.

I forgot to mention that I am using Revit Architecture 2008.

Sorry about that.

If you 'disallow join' (click on the wall and right click on the blue stretch dot), pull them away from the columns, and realign them with the columns (use the align tool) they should work.  You may have to move the columns away and put them back for them to display properly.

Thanks Tim.  That worked great for unjoining the walls from the columns but it didn't change the columns to solid black poche even after moving them and putting them back.  How did you get them to display in solid black in the Existing Phase?

I didn't do anything to the phases.  Move one column away from the walls and it turns black.  Stretch the walls away from where the column was.  Dissalow the joints and stretch them back to the correct position (I drew reference planes first to align them).  Move the column back to it's original position.

Make the columns Phase : New construction instead of Phase : Existing

Hope it works.

The problem with setting the columns to the New Constrcution Phase is that they won't display as existing construction in my Demo plans.

I finally realized that I can just override the graphics in view by selecting all instances, override graphics in view, by element, then change the cut pattern.  I will have to do that in each of my plan views but it seems to be the best option for now.

I'm still open to other suggestions.
