Hi I was wanting to know how to split a curtain wall into two so i am able to change one part of the wall to a solid wall so i am able to place a door into the wall. I am having a row of officers with a solid door and curtain wall for the rest of the wall face. I have tried to split the wall using curtain grid however the mullion splits but I'm not able to change the wall at that curtain grid. I am using Revit Arch 2009.

Divide the wall using the curtain grid. Select a panel (use tab) and change it to the wall type that you would like.

Thanks for that. That is what i was looking for. I was thinking of doing the same thing on my external walls to create windows with solid walls all around the curtain wall, however i thought the problem with tags since it is meant to be a wall but i am using as a window. Is there a way to make the tag think the curtain wall is a window? or am i better just to create a model of the window i want?. At the moment i just put a tag saying W01 however when i get to the end of the project to make a window legend i'm thinking it will not appear. Im using Revit 2009 Thanks

if you really need a window, then use a window. there's no real sense in trying to make a tool do something it's not designed to do when you have a tool that will do what you need to have done.

nathanp, No need to place a wall to host a solid door. Use a solid curtain wall door. It will schedule with the rest of your doors... after all - it is a door.

Also, if you have a curtain wall with multiple panels, you can just tab select the panel and change it to a "solid panel" if thats what your wanting.
