Revit 2010--I just started using the student version of the program and it's been glitchy! For some reason I can draw walls in plan but they DO NOT SHOW UP IN 3D (this is the problem). I attached a file for viewing... I think it may be because I made a diagonal reference in 3D that's but now I can't delete that reference plane. I have no idea what to do and I really need a solution to this problem so I can finish my project!

could it be that your phase filter in 3D mode isn't set to show the phase you're drawing in plan?

It could be a number of reasons, but I don't think that from that you can conclude that Revit is either lame or glitchy.

Try:

Walls are switched off in the 3d view, or the category is temporarily hidden

There is something that is far from the wall (outside the crop region in plan, perhaps a CAD insert) so that you're not zooming to the right place, or it's so far away that you can't see it

It's in a workset that is switched off in the view

As mentioned, it's in a different phase

Hi adda,

REVIT is most definately not glitchy.

You need to understand a few things before you dive in because REVIT is a very sophisticated 3D parametric design program and what is happeing is happening for good reason.

As tim indicated the walls may not be showing up for any number of reasons.

Make sure you do a 'zoom to fit' to start with, in the 3D view.

My guess is you have 'cropped' the 3D view (outside the extents of the walls) and then turned off the crop region outline. To check this possibility turn 'off' view cropping then do a 'zoom to fit'.(see attached image).

This could also be casued by:

The view 'discipline'

Temporary Hiding

Visibility graphics / override

Phases

Probably a few more......

Upload the file and we'll be sure to tell you.

I attached the file under 'file attachments'...it does not appear. How can I make it smaller?
