I'm trying to calculate Pricing for material or better yet a wall.  I set up a Wall Schedule Quantities and Pricing Schedule and within the schedule I'm trying to get the Area and the Cost to multiply, under a Price field, but it doesn't seem to reconize the fields or formula that I'm typing in.  Has anyone trying to create a schedule like this in their template or can anyone help me figure this out.  I'm this close to saving the company the headache of actually doing a quantity take-off... Please let me know if you can help or if you have something like this that can help me better understand how to create this formulas.

Thank you

TipIn formulas, keep units consistent. Do not mix units.

WWHub, thank you for your prompt response, BUT...........

I'm not able to make it work....  Let me see if I can give you more detail.

I created a schedule for a roof material area.  The fields that I added were, Type and Family, Area and Cost... I went to calculate value and created a Price field and added the following to the formual box... Area*Cost.  It didn't allow me to change the cost units, from currency to whatever... But, you see what I'm trying to do, right?

Please help...

Thank You,

The units need to be consistent.  You can create an additional parameter (Area) that equals 1.  In your formula use that to get the units consistent, such as "Total cost= Area/Area A * Cost"
