Hi All, i have 2 questions.....first i'm using 2009 revit. i've started my project with a template provided or created by someone earlier to me. 1.i'm not able to change or use revit standard section marks.........i'm loading into the project and they are there but when i draw section line or mark it's taking the wrong one and not allowing me to change it to the one provided by revit. 2.my section mark's or tags disappear when i change the scale.......also i guess something to do with the template i've used......... can some one tell me how to get rid of the proble.......need some direction..........thanks

If you go into the element properties of the section mark and edit it you can change the callout tag to any that are loaded into your project. There's a field in the section mark properties to 'hide at scales courser than'. I suspect that this is your second problem.

Hi Active, Sorry for the delay in replying to your suggestion. and i thank you for replying...........one thing i want to say is that, question no:1: i tryed that already and it did not work....i guess something else is the problem....template file is too big to send it... i'll try to explain....when you choose section mark from the left side column in the properties box normally it should show as Section: building section....but in this case it is showing as Section:name of the family some one created earlier (which in this case i dont want to use and use the section mark provided by the revit software).....now that i explained if or is there any way to remove that.....and my question 2: got it and thanks again.......pls. reply........also i would like to ask here one more question.......how to make steel sheet roof ie: with insulation layer then waterproof layer and then the top most is the metal sheet layer.......i cant understand why it is not there in revit software along with the roof command.........any tips on creating this.....close to real roof is much appreciated.........also would like to know how people are creating this kind of roof's....a step by step explanation will really make me learn it for good............thanks in advance and thanks for taking time........this site has helped me a lot and i want to say thank you revit city........wilson.........i'm using revit 2008 & 2009

You need to got to the next level. Click 'Edit' and you can change it to any that are loaded into your project. If there aren't any to cahnge it to you will have to load one into your project. Revit provides the tools to create the roofs that you need, not the actual roof, as there are too many different kinds. There are normally many different ways to create something like a roof. From your post, it's difficult to know what you want, but generally, a roof is like a wall. Edit it, insert the layers that you want with the thicknesses and apply the materials to it. A roof is not normally that simple though. You may need to create the layers of the roof and the roof structure separately, depending on how complex it is and the way you need to show it in 3d and 2d. Without knowing more about what you're trying to do, it would be difficult to elaborate on this.
