Hi there, I've looked around and can't seem to find this question anywhere else, so here goes....

I would like to include 2 technically divided spaces to be counted as 1 room with a combined area. The situation is that I have a bedroom with a cupboard constructed out of a plasterboard partition wall with a sliding cupboard door in it. Where I am working, habitable floor area for a room includes any cupboard space and any corresponding floor area occupied by any wall in between.

In the past I simply drew a closed polyline in AutoCAD ignoring the partition wall, but this kind of option does not appear to be available to room areas. Something like the sketch editor for a floor outline would be good if it existed, or something opposite to the room separation tool.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The wall has a property that makes it room bounding.  Uncheck that.

I also used to use the polyline tool for finding areas in AutoCAD.  A quick and dirty way to find an area in Revit is to draw a filled region and then open the element properties of it after you've finished sketching where you will find the area.

Thanks tim123, that seems to have done it! My email notifications don't seem to be working, so I didn't realise until now that I had a reply.
