Does anybody have a good work around for using grid lines? i have a project that is 5 stories and also has a match line, I have to go into each and every sheet and modify the grids to not lay on top of one another that are so close. There has got to be another way around all this than doing the same thing over and over again???? I sure am glad that the 30 story building that I had was put on hold, I sure wouldn't want to do this times 30!!

Anybody with any help would be great because this is very irritating to say the least.

When you click on a grid line there is a 2d or 3d button.  If it is 2d it affects only that drawing.  Change it to 3d and it will change in all the drawings that have not been set to 2d.

I tried to change the 2D to 3D but it won't let me click on it to change it. The only time it highlights is when I pick one of the grips to move it. And when I move one of the grips it changes to 3D and then changes back when I drop the grip.

Did you try with "propagate extents"?

I tried that and it seems to partially work for me. If you look at pic #1 it shows that the 2D isn't highlighted which means I can't pick the propagate extends. But in pic #2 I when down the line and picked another grip and it will let me change the propagate on that one. The only problem is that is not the one I'm concerned about, it is the ones that overlap each other al the way up the building.

You may have a scope box applied.  Clicj on the grid line and go to it's element properties and click none for scope box.

Also read up about scope boxes - they may be what you need to make it easier to control the grids over multiple levels.

If you right click on the grid line you can reset to 3d extents.

yeah, I tried that too. The only thing it I can click is maxamize 3D extend and that doesn't make it to where I can apply it to all floors.

I am not sure but I heard that to get a 2d grid line back to 3d you have drag the head back to its orig. position and them click it to 3d
