I am having difficulty getting the elvations to print as they appear on screen.  Finally everything is looking pretty good on the monitor ,but elements such as fascias, gutters, roof edges and wall edges dissapear randomly when printed.  Does anyone know how to address this problem?  Plotter settings?  Visability graphics?  Please help!

Have you tried printing on different printers. or PDF.  I previously had problems printing to a specific printer (OCE).  This was a driver problem rather than a Revit problem.

Printing to PDF does not help.  Other threads suggest a lot of linework is necessary to make the elevations and sections read correctly.  Is this common practice with Revit?

You said that items disappear when printed.  This is not a REVIT issue.

You also asked about line quality.  This issue can be resolved through the REVIT settings but it does take some time to get your standards set up and to understand the "rules".

Are you vector or raster printing?  There are issues with raster printing because of the pixels.  You will sometimes see a difference between true x or y lines versus diagonal lines because of this with raster prints.

I believe the bulk of your problem is driver / printer related.  Printing to PDF should help. Listing your printer may help but you MUST be using the latest driver for your printer.

It should print as it appears on your screen.  I don't normally add any linework to elevations.  With sections you may need to do some 2D work for details as it is not practical to model everything (although it's possible).  Does printing to a different printer yield the same result?

Printing a PDF and to a different printer still shows the linework missing in the preview.  some of the elements were cut and pasted.  Could this be a source of the problem?

It looks like the problem was vector vs. raster printing, whatever that is.  Changing to raster solved the problem.  Thankyou for your help!
